About WSCBOOKS, The Churchill Book Specialist
OBJECTIVE:
Our business
model is very simple. We do only one thing, and do it better
than anyone else. We have the largest selection of Churchill
books and other collectibles anywhere. We travel to England
most months to search for new material through our network
of contacts established during my 18 years of residence in
London.
Our stock is not just fine
first editions. We stock and sell far more of the low cost
editions of Churchill's works. Over the past 10 years, we
have produced our own editions of several Churchill titles
and still have stocks of the '5-in-1" early works book
and LORD RANDOLPH CHURCHILL. There are presently only two
Churchill books for which we do not offer sub-$100.00 copies-
THE EASTERN FRONT, and THE UNWRITTEN ALLIANCE.

BUSINESS
PREMISES:
The
Churchill Book Specialist occupies 1600 sq. ft. on the lower
level of our split level home in the foothills west of Tucson,
Arizona. This area is below grade level and is kept dark
to prevent any light damage to the books. The low humidity
here in the desert does not cause mildew or foxing of the
the books kept here.
Our
normal business hours are 8.00 AM to 6.00 PM, but there
is normally a Post Office trip in the middle of the day.
We are usually in England the second week of each month,
but the answering machine is checked daily. This is not
an "open shop", but visitors are welcome by appointment.
Those who do visit are astounded by the size of the stock
here.

DESCRIPTIONS:
I try
to describe each book and its dustwrapper individually.
I occasionally use the standard terms of "FINE"
and "VERY GOOD", but more often talk abouut the
good points and bad points of a particular copy. Collectors
shopuld be aware the that term "GOOD" really means
"BAD". Most books in the online catalogue have
a picture. For the books by Churchill, this shows the actual
copy. On the more common books about Churchill, a generic
illustration of the cover is used. A comprehensive guide
to terms and abbreviations used in book descriptions can
be found at
this link.
