Marlborough: His Life and Times
Harrap, London, (1939), hardcover. The Limited Presentation edition, 4 volumes, 1939. Not to be confused with signed limited edition. This is a remainder binding done in 1939 with left over sheets from the first edition. Vol. I was reprinted for this edition, but vols III & IV appear to be first editions. This set was bound in a deep purple cloth, blocked in silver. Unfortunately, the dyes proved extremely sensitive to light, and virtually all, even those with jackets, have faded, often severely. This edition is of interest to completists, but also offers a low cost opportunity to have the original 4 volume work. Vol. I has no dustwrapper, vols II-III-IV hav dustwrappers with losses at spine ends. Pge edges free of spots. Spine have feded areas from gaps in djs. (A40ad). Item #25140
