Step by Step 1936-1939
Thornton Butterworth, London, 1939, 3rd impression, First published 27th June 1939, just over two months before the start of World War II, this book is a collection of article on foreign affairs which Churchill had published in newspapers. It sold well and this 3rd impression was printed November, 1939. Many of them contain his warnings and predictions about Hitler and the Nazis, which proved all too accurate. Bound in green cloth, 366 pages, one folding map at rear. There are 82 articles, arranged chronologically. Book is veary clean with bright gilt titles, pages edges especially white and free of spots. Owner name on pastedown, contenst very clean. Dustwrapper is unclipped, tanned on spine and some splash marks, usual carcks at spine ends, and a 3 inch irregular split along center of back joint.
