THE DREAM, Churchill’s haunting essay about an imaginary (?) reunion with his father, originally written in 1947, was first published in the SUNDAY TELEGRAPH on 31 January, 1966. This is the first appearance in volume form. Issued in a numbered edition of 500 copies, bound in padded dark red leather, AEG, silk moire endpapers, colour centrespread. This is copy no. 121 and includes the original letter from Langworth to the buyer. The leather used on these books was very thin and many are starting to show cracks or wear, usually along the joints. This copy has a one inch crack at top of front joint and tiny fissures along both joints. (A147a). Item #33335
