George Newnes, London, (1908), An early “pulp” style reprint of Churchill’s novel. Printed on cheap pulpy paper which goes brown, ads at each end, in illustrated slick paper covers printed red and blue. Size 5.75 x 8.25 inches, 128 pages, with two full page plates on slick paper, making it the first illustrated edition. Part of Newnes “sixpenny novels illustrated” series. A fragile item, low survivability, certainly scarcer than first, but not as high value. Front cover has lost top corner 25 x 45 mm and has been reattached. Rear cover missing, paper browned, some spots. (A3c). Item #33513
