Thornton Butterworth, London, 1939, 1st edition, Published 27th June 1939, just over two months before the start of World War II, this book is a collection of article on foreign affairs which Churchill had published in newspapers. Many of them contain his warnings and predictions about Hitler and the Nazis, which proved all too accurate. Bound in green cloth, 366 pages, one folding map at rear. There are 82 articles, arranged chronologically. Book is clean, covers unmarked, gilt bright, no names, foredges even, white, free of spots. Dustwrapper is unclipped, exceptionally light and unmarked, no losses at spine ends. There are several places on the spine where abrasion has just barely gone through paper, nearly impossible to spot when in a plastic protector. If one were to line up a half dozen of these, this copy would stand out as being a significantly brighter color, due to its lack of toning or soiling. (A45a). Item #33532
