Bound in the same carmine red cloth as ROVING COMMISSION, with the same proclivity to fade. Less common than the English edition and truly scarce in fine condition. 320 pages, frontis portrait. Book is tight and very clean with unfaded red cloth and shiny gilt titles. No names, small bookseller ticket on front free endpaper, rear hinge cracked. Dustjacket is unclipped, bright front cover, red areas on spine well faded as usual, some small cracks and losses at spine ends. (A39b). Item #35388
