Purnell, London, nd (1970’s), hardcover. This collected edition of Churchill’s war speeches has much to recommend it. There are five additional speeches lacking from the wartime volumes, and there is now an index, a most helpful addition. This edition uses the same setting as the Cassell firsts, but trimmed to a smaller size (5.5 x 8.75 ins), bound in bright blue leatherette stamped in gold. Issued without dw’s. Books very clean with shiny gilt stamping, no names, no markings, very faint spots on top page edges. The lower right corner of the back cover of vol 3 has a kink in it. (A136d). Item #36856
