Bound in coarser darker navy cloth than firsts. 387 pages, photo plate of each of the 25 subjects. This second impression of 1940 uses the outer leaf of the first and last gatherings as its endpapers, so saving a tiny bit of rationed wartime paper. Book is very crisp with remarkably bright gilt titles on spine. Binding is tight, edges even but lightly spotted, no names. Dustjacket is unclipped, very bright front cover, spine slightly grey with losses at ends and a small ragged hole in middle of spine. (A43b.2). Item #50125
