Thomas Allen, Toronto, 1948-53, 1st Canadian edition, hardcover. The first Canadian edition of Churchill’s memoirs of World War II. Similar to the US edition, but with a deep red cloth binding that is more satisfying. Far scarcer than American editions, this set is underrated by collectors. Books are all clean and unworn, owner names in vols 2,3,4. Gilt is bright, no foxing on edges or in contents. Dustwrappers unclipped escept vol. I. but several vols do not have prices. The jsckets have wear and losses at spine ends, see photo. Vol I has loss to 22 mm depth. Vol II has lost of cracks and chips, loss to 6 mm, vols III, IV minor wear, vol V loss at top to 7 mm, vol VI som wear and wrinkle. (ICS A123ab). Item #7000
