Four large thick hardcovers, 9 x 12 ins, each aboput 418-489 pages, over 2000 illustrations within text and a dozen full page plates in each volume. This set from the numbered limited editioin of 500 sets bound in red leather spines over parchment boards, top edges gilt, elaborately deorated in gilt and red. Books are in fine crisp condition, having spent their lives inside the original slipcases. owner name and bookplate in each volume. Vol IV has a ding in spine and one slipcase lacks it spine.
