THE UNRELENTING STRUGGLE

The second volume of War Speeches, containing speeches Churchill made in 1941, had its first edition in 1942. THE UNRELENTING STRUGGLE follows the series binding in pale blue cloth, with a similar dustwrapper of brown blending to black. There were 4 printings altogether and this title is proving the most difficult of the 7 to find in first edition.

The US edition now had a new publisher- Little Brown & Co., Boston resulting in a new appearance- red cloth with titles gilt on black panels, wrapped in a red/black photo dj.The Canadian first edition retained the same published, but now had a look very close to the American edition. For the first time, there was a 1st Australian edition, published by Cassell, with a unique and striking jacket design, but a drab oatmeal cloth binding. This volume alone of the 7 speeches volumes also had an English language edition published in Stockhom by the Continental Book Co., with a unique two tone brown binding, and a jacket very similar to the English first edition.
